Our aim through worshipful music in St. James’s is to reach out to all generations and tastes. The traditional organ led choral hymns are complimented with contemporary praise worship delivered by our Praise Band consisting of modern wind, brass and percussion instruments.
Services which are family focused continue to form an integral part of our monthly schedule. These are very well attended and allow a wide range of church members to participate through readings, prayer, sharing experiences and giving testimonies. These services tend to have a more up-beat approach to worship and are viewed as an important way to reach our youth. It is pleasing to see that many members, who have passed through their teenage years and maybe even consider themselves as elderly, also enjoy the contemporary music on the last Sunday of each month.
“ Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness, nourishment of mind by His truth, purifying of imagination by His beauty, opening of the heart to His love, and submission of will to His purpose. And all this gathered up in adoration is the greatest of human expressions of which we are capable.” William Temple
Services will be on the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month at 6.30pm in the newly re-furbished Minor Hall. These will be a more informal type of service as we study the scriptures and are encouraged to ask and answer questions.
Come along, bring a friend and enjoy fellowship with a cup of tea in the warmth and company of others. Everyone will be made very welcome.

Easter at St. James’s is always a special time of the year. Easter Sunday begins with our dawn service at 7.00am followed by some breakfast in the minor hall and we welcome people from all denominations to celebrate the risen Saviour with us.
The day continues with a morning service at 11.30am and an evening praise service when we join with the congregation from Trinity Presbyterian Church.
We always prepare a few musical items for this service available on Youtube.
